Your food waste caddies are on their way
Residents across Lichfield District and Tamworth will soon begin receiving new food waste caddies ahead of weekly food waste collections starting from 20 July 2026.
The new service will make it easier to recycle more of your household waste, helping to reduce the amount sent for disposal. Food waste collected from homes will be turned into renewable energy and fertiliser through a specialist treatment process.
Why is this happening?
The Government has introduced new requirements for councils across England to provide separate weekly food waste collections.
